Ke hoʻomākaukau nei ʻo Laʻi Hauola e mālama i ke Kula Leo mua loa ma Hawaiʻi nei. ʻO ka mole nō hoʻi o kēia, mai ke Kura Reo o ka lāhui Māori mai, a ʻo ke Kula Leo o Lahaina he papahana kaiapuni ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi he ʻekolu lā kona lōʻihi, a ʻo ka mākia ka hoʻonui ʻike i nā mele, moʻolelo a me ka ʻōlelo o Lahaina. Ua hāmama ka polokalamu no nā pae like ʻole, mai ka pae hoʻomaka a i ka pae mīkololohua ma ka ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi.

E kōkua mai ana kēia palapala iā mākou i ʻike i ka hoihoi, nā mea pono, a i ke ʻano e mālama ai i kēia polokalamu no ka pōmaikaʻi o kō Lahaina kaiāulu.

Laʻi Hauola is preparing to host Hawaiʻi's first Kula Leo.

 

Based on Māori Kura Reo, ke Kula Leo o Lahaina is a 3-day ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi immersion project, focusing on increasing knowledge of songs, oral histories and language of Lahaina. The program will be open to all levels of understanding, from beginners to expert level ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi speakers.

This form will help us better understand interest, participant needs, and how we can best design this program to serve our Lahaina community.
